Pimentón Picante de la Vera is a product from Extremadura with a long tradition. Its origin is in La Vera dates back to the sixteenth century, in the Monastery of Yuste, with the Hieronymite monks, where he retired and died the Carlos I.
The monks introduced these plantations into their monastery gardens, and due to their experience and the favourable microclimate in the area, the best peppers ideal for hot paprika began to sprout. It didn't take long for this to become the most prized product these monks had
