Boticario de Silos is a signature red wine produced by Bodegas Septién, under the direction of winemaker and writer Andrés Septién.
This wine comes from the Arlanza Designation of Origin in Castile and León, an emerging region known for its altitude and centuries-old vineyards.
The blend is composed of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha Tinta, and 10% Mencía, from small plots of century-old vineyards planted in bush-form, located between Retuerta and Covarrubias, at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Fermentation is carried out separately, with 20% stems and very gentle extractions. The wine is then blended and aged for 12 months in second- and third-use French oak barrels.
Bright cherry red color with violet reflections. Medium-high depth, clean and attractive. Intense aromas of red and black fruits (black cherry, currant), accompanied by spicy notes (licorice, pepper) and balsamic touches. Notes of aromatic herbs are also perceived, along with a mineral background that adds complexity. Fresh and juicy entry, with soft, well-integrated tannins. Good acidity provides liveliness and balance. The palate is creamy, with spicy flavors and a long, lingering aftertaste.
