Amaren Crianza, made with Tempranillo and Garnacha, seems to us an elegant and very well balanced wine. A wine to enjoy.
Amaren, in Basque meaning "from the mother," was born with the 1995 harvest as a tribute to Angeles, the mother of winemaker Juan Luis Cañas. Since then, it has been a quest for perfection in the vineyard, its selection, production, and aging to achieve wines that evoke emotions.
Amaren Crianza is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha. Manual harvest, collected in baskets and transferred to the winery for selection on a double table, clusters and then grapes. Only the perfect grapes will continue their process. Both varieties have been harvested, elaborated and aged separately in order to extract their maximum potential and subsequently create an aromatic ensemble. Tempranillo brings finesse and elegance typical of the variety and faithful expression of the characteristics of the best soils in Rioja Alavesa. Garnacha is the ideal complement to transmit to the wine its particular notes of red fruit that bring freshness and delicacy.
It has aged for 12 months in barrels.
Amaren Crianza is ideal to accompany cured cheeses, cold cuts, and braised lamb. It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
