Our La Vieja Olma beans are grown in the fertile plain of Saldaña, in the province of Palencia. The white kidney bean has unique characteristics of flavour, aroma and texture. Its cooking gives us a soft bean, which melts in the mouth where the skin goes completely unnoticed. The climatic conditions of the area are key. This is the best valued bean in the area, also known as "La Perla de la Vega". The pedrosillano chickpea is characterized by its small size, although somewhat larger than in other areas, probably due to the coolness of the plain, bathed by the river Carrión. The most important characteristics lie in its flavour, its cooking and its inappreciable skin The rice bean has a small size that makes it cook faster than other types of beans. It has a very soft, almost imperceptible skin. It is a bean that goes very well with seafood, more digestive than other species. All our pulses are produced by small farmers in the region of Saldaña in Palencia and belong to the Palencia Food Club, which guarantees our origin and our quality. With our project we collaborate in a sustainable agriculture giving the farmer alternatives to other products, promoting crop rotation and avoiding incorporating chemical fertilizers to our vegetables and in turn, providing nitrogen to future crops.
