The cherry tree is cultivated in temperate climates, but it withstands the cold perfectly. It stands out in production in: the Jerte Valley in Cáceres, Andalusia, the Ebro Valley, and the mountains of Alicante. Its season starts in April and lasts until mid-summer. Cherries contain a lot of water, fiber, carbohydrates, proteins, they are rich in vitamin A and also contain vitamins C, B1, B2, B6, and E; minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, iron, copper, and manganese; as well as fructose and antioxidants. Due to their properties, they are beneficial for health as they regulate intestinal transit, alleviate constipation and act as laxatives. They also combat diabetes, act as antiseptics, help prevent infections, cardiovascular and degenerative diseases, cholesterol, arteriosclerosis, gout, high blood pressure, and they are also diuretic. However, it is not recommended to eat large quantities if you have kidney problems or kidney stones.
