The Pagos del Rey Winery presents the Condado de Oriza Roble Red Wine, an excellent example of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin (Spain), made from the 100% Tempranillo grape variety. This wine, known as Tinta del País in the region, comes from carefully selected grapes from vineyards located in the clayey and sandy soils surrounding Olmedillo de Roa (Burgos).

To fully enjoy this wine, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16-17ºC. The grapes undergo a meticulous selection process, followed by a 2-day cold maceration period. This process allows the preservation and enhancement of the characteristic aromas and flavors of the Tempranillo grape. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, between 23 and 25ºC, ensuring the maximum varietal expression. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 6 months in American oak barrels, which gives it its distinctive touch of wood and enriches it in structure and complexity. Finally, the wine is bottled and remains in the bottle for another 6 months, refining its characteristics before being marketed.

The Condado de Oriza Roble 2022 has been awarded the gold medal at the prestigious 2024 Mundus Vini competition, highlighting the quality and care with which this wine is made.

In the last three decades, the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin has gained recognition as one of the main wine regions in Spain. Located in the northern plateau, it covers the provinces of Burgos, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid. With more than 250 wineries and over 22,000 hectares of vineyards, the Ribera del Duero specializes in the production of red wines, with a small percentage dedicated to rosés.
