The La Mateo Vendimia Red Wine is made by Bodegas D.Mateo with grapes of the varieties Tempranillo 70%, Garnacha 27%, Graciano 3%.
The grapes with which this wine is made come from 50-year-old vineyards.
The La Mateo Vendimia Red Wine has undergone malolactic fermentation in new 225-liter barrels and has subsequently undergone a 14-month aging process in new 225-liter barrels of French Allier, Nevers, Tronçaise and Jupilles oak (85%) and American Pennsylvania oak (15%).
Made after a rigorous selection of Tempranillo, Grenache and Graciano varieties, harvested by hand in the "Salobral", the winery's most emblematic plot, with north-south orientation and calcareous clay soils.
The most personal line of the winery, wines that pay tribute to the work of previous generations of the family, who for more than 150 years, have been able to transmit from parents to children until today, all the secrets of cultivation of the family vineyard.
This is a range in which Bodega de Mateos bets on making more special wines, unhurried, without being subject to the established rules, in which patience and enthusiasm are the main working tools. That is why it is a collection open to future different wines within the same pattern of quality and philosophy, as they embody all the concerns of the winery.
It is a range in which the winery is committed to wines with more character and personality and initially consists of four references, a Garnacha Cepas Viejas , a White Tempranillo fermented in barrel, a Vendimia and a Parcelas Singulares.
Wines with a marked "terroir" style in which elegance and expressiveness are sought, fruit of our oldest vineyards and selected plots, aged in the best barrels of the most select French cooperages.
They are very limited numbered editions that depend on the productivity of these plots and subject to rigorous quality parameters so they may not be released every year
