Liger-Belair Moulin À Vent Les Vieilles Vignes is a red wine made by Thibault Liger-Belair.
Liger-Belair Moulin À Vent Les Vieilles Vignes is a red wine made by Thibault Liger-Belair. The Moulin à Vent "Les Vieilles Vignes" by Thibault Liger Belair comes from a blend of 9 plots. These represent about 7 hectares or 50% of the total surface of the Pierres Roses area.
These are vines that were planted between 1910 and 1955, all are located around the Moulin à Vent mountain and form a sort of belt. The terroir where these different Gamayes vines are present is shallow and is mainly composed of white and pink sand from the decomposition of pink granite and quartz.
The ageing is done in oak barrels in order to respect the grape variety and its terroir of origin as much as possible. Only 60% of the grapes are destemmed to preserve the 40% of whole bunches that provide tannins and concentration of matter.
On the nose, the wine develops aromas of prunes, dates and blueberries. Hints of spice add a pleasant freshness. The whole gives an impression of gourmet freshness, it is sublime.
On the palate the wine is very docile, showing notes of black fruits such as cherry, blackberry and plum. A very pleasant herbaceous touch brings the necessary originality to this Molino. A magnificent wine to be discovered.
