Production and aging
Marqués de Vargas Reserva is a wine made from grapes over 30 years old, grown in the vineyards of "El Cónsul", "La Misela" and "Terrazas". After maceration with the skins for 11 days with daily pump-overs, it undergoes an elaborate aging process: 30% in new American oak barrels, 40% in American, French, and Russian oak barrels previously used for another wine, 20% in French oak barrels, and the remaining 10% in new Russian oak barrels.
