The matcha green tea is very well known in Japan, it helps reduce stress, boost defenses, lower cholesterol, and fight cancer.
Matcha tea is the whole leaf of green tea that, after a special process of cultivation, harvesting, and drying, is ground to obtain a fine and intense green powder that multiplies the benefits of green tea. A cup of matcha is equivalent to 10 cups of green tea in antioxidants and nutritional value.
When you make a cup of green tea, only a fraction of its benefits can be extracted, most of the nutrients remain in the tea leaves when you make an infusion. The only way to take advantage of the full potential of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids is to consume the whole leaf.
Although powdered tea has its origins in China during the Song dynasty, it was the Zen monks of Japan who popularized the tradition. During long hours of meditation, they drank matcha to stay alert and calm, favoring concentration and mental clarity without the nervous energy provided by coffee.
