Prima is a red wine that represents the most accessible and versatile face of the D.O. Toro, without giving up the intensity and character typical of this Castilian land. Produced by the renowned Bodega San Román, owned by Mariano García (former winemaker of Vega Sicilia), Prima combines tradition and oenological precision to offer an expressive, modern, and balanced wine.
It is mainly made with Tinta de Toro (native Tempranillo), with a small contribution of Garnacha, from bush vines grown in sandy and stony soils at different altitudes. The wine undergoes aging for about 12 months in French and American oak barrels, which adds complexity without masking the fruit.
Tasting notes:
Color: Intense cherry red with a violet edge.
Nose: Aromas of ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum), blue flowers, sweet spices, and a very characteristic mineral touch.
Palate: Friendly and juicy entry, silky tannins, good acidity, and a balanced mouthfeel that culminates in a long, fruity, and slightly spicy finish.
Pairing:
Perfect for grilled meats, traditional stews, Iberian cured meats, mountain rice dishes, or small game dishes. Its versatility and balance make it ideal for both a casual meal and a special occasion.
Prima is a gastronomic and fresh wine, which invites you to discover the kindest and most refined expression of Toro. An excellent gateway to this designation, with the signature of one of the most respected wineries in Castilla y León.
