"The Bolls Zeer Oude Gin is a premium gin made with over 15% malt wine (in the case of Bols, exactly 19%), 35% alcohol, and less than 20 gr. of sugar per liter of blend. It is called old gin, not because of its aging, but because of the mixture. Lucas Bols is a Dutch liquor manufacturer, especially known for their vodka and gin, dating back to 1575. They produce various types of gin, following the classic procedures of the company, and in their case, legislation allows the types to be registered as brands. The basic process involves creating a blend of malted barley, rye, corn, and wheat, macerating it and distilling the resulting mash two to four times, obtaining a type of alcohol called "malt wine." On the other hand, botanicals are introduced, the classic ones for gin (juniper, angelica, iris root, coriander, and licorice), along with some special ones, in neutral alcohol obtained from corn, mixing this infusion with the malt wine, and obtaining, according to the proportions, the different types of gin."
