Protos Roble is presented to us as an intense and fruity wine, with round tannins and a delicious finish.
Protos comes from Greek and means First, since the winery was inaugurated in 1927, being the pioneer in Ribera del Duero. Currently, they control 1,400 hectares, a true giant.
Protos Roble is a single-varietal wine made from Tinta del País grapes. The grapes used are grown in our own vineyards. The harvest is done manually and the clusters go through a selection process. The grapes are destemmed and cold macerated to extract the best aromas from the skins. The subsequent fermentation takes place at a constant and controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.
Protos Roble then ages for 6 months in American oak barrels before resting for another half year in the bottle.
Protos Roble is ideal to accompany rice dishes, roasted meats, red meats, cured meats, and pasta with Bolognese sauce. It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 15 and 17ºC.
