The Red Wine Adega Coop Ponte da Barca Naperão Vinhão Reserva from the Vinho Verde DOC (Spain) is a modern and refined expression of the 100% Vinhão grape variety. This wine is not a traditional Vinhão; it is a contemporary interpretation that offers a softer character, lower acidity, a slight touch of barrel aging, and a delicate color.
This red wine is produced from a careful selection of grapes from the best vineyards of our partners. The vinification begins with a two-day cold pre-maceration to promote a controlled extraction of color and a low amount of tannins. Next, the alcoholic fermentation takes place only with the liquid, without the grape skins, using selected yeasts. These yeasts are co-inoculated with lactic bacteria to carry out the malolactic fermentation, which helps soften the wine's acidity.
The vinification process includes a bâtonnage phase, where the wine is kept in contact with its fine lees for a period of over three months before bottling. This method adds complexity and body to the wine, resulting in a profile aligned with international consumption preferences.
The Red Wine Naperão Vinhão Reserva is recommended to be served at a temperature between 14° and 16°C, to fully appreciate its nuances and unique character. This wine is ideal to pair with red meats, game dishes, aged cheeses, and hearty stews. Its aromatic profile and smoothness on the palate make it an excellent choice for elegant dinners and special occasions.
Contains sulfites.
