Bodegas El Hacedor presents us with the Vino Tinto Montevannos Majuelos Selección from the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin (Spain). The wine is made with a blend of Tempranillo (95%) and Merlot (5%), two varieties that complement each other perfectly.

The Tempranillo grapes come from vineyards located in Hontangas, San Juan del Monte, and Quintana del Pidio, while the Merlot grape comes from the Valdepalacios estate. All the vineyards are located between 825 and 850 meters above sea level, planted on soils of pebbles and limestone composition. Most of the vines are over 40 years old, except for the Merlot, which is 20 years old, ensuring excellent concentration and varietal typicity.

The aging process takes place for 12 months in oak barrels, combining 75% French and 25% American oak, between new and second and third use barrels. This extended aging contributes complexity, structure, and excellent bottle aging potential to the wine, without taking away from the fruit.

The harvest took place under favorable weather conditions: normal temperatures for the area, no rain since September, and marked temperature contrasts between day and night. These circumstances allowed for a slow and even ripening process, with grapes that, although not large, showed exceptional quality and optimal health.

In the glass, the Vino Tinto Montevannos Majuelos Selección offers a deep cherry red color, intense aromas of ripe black fruits, spicy notes, mineral touches, and a subtle toasty background. On the palate, it is broad, round, with polished tannins and a long and elegant finish.

Ideal for pairing with red meats, roasts, game, traditional stews, and aged cheeses, this wine is intended for those looking to enjoy a complete wine experience.

Don't hesitate any longer: if you are thinking of buying a characterful and authentic aged red wine, Montevannos Majuelos Selección is the perfect choice for you. And if you have any questions, our sommelier is available to assist you with no obligation.
