The Viña Abba Red Wine is an oenological gem from Castilla y León, specifically from the Toro Designation of Origin in Zamora. This red wine, aged for 14 months in barrels, is produced by the prestigious Bodegas Francisco Casas, S.A., under the expert direction of winemakers Eduardo Casas and Jesús García.

The Viña Abba is made 100% with Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) grapes, a variety known for its robustness and intensity. The vineyards, over 40 years old, are traditionally planted in goblet shape and are located in sandy-loamy soils with a sandy layer at depth, with gentle undulations around the Duero valley, at an altitude of approximately 700 meters. These geographical conditions are ideal for the cultivation of Tinta de Toro.

The region's continental climate with Atlantic influences, characterized by cold winters and hot summers with many hours of sunlight, along with significant temperature variations between day and night during the ripening stage, allows for the production of high-quality grapes. Annual rainfall is close to 400 mm, which also contributes to the vineyards' water balance.

The production process of Viña Abba Red Wine begins with the careful selection of grapes in the vineyard, which are harvested in the fourth week of September. Then, there is a pre-fermentation maceration for 2-3 days, followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures of 24-26º C and a 15-day maceration with daily pump-overs. Subsequently, the wine undergoes 14 months of oxidative aging in oak barrels (60% French and 40% American), and then a reducing aging in the bottle for 8 months to ensure perfect maturation and balance.

The result is an elegant and well-structured red wine, with notes of ripe fruit, spices, and a subtle touch of oak. Viña Abba is ideal for pairing with red meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses, offering a rich and memorable oenological experience. This wine reflects the dedication and commitment to excellence of Bodegas Francisco Casas, S.A., providing an unparalleled delight for the senses.
