Bacardi rum was born in 1862 in Santiago de Cuba. After the Cuban Revolution, the company moved to Puerto Rico.
It is the largest distillery in the world.
Facundo Bacardí Massó was the first to intentionally age rum to achieve a specific development of aroma and flavor, aging the rum for a minimum of twelve months in slightly charred American white oak barrels that offered Bacardí Rum an optimal level of maturity.
Today, Bacardí Superior white rum maintains the excellence of that first rum created in 1862.
Bacardí rum has a minimum aging of 18 months.
Color: clear water; bright and polished.
Aroma: light vanilla and fresh apricot.
Palate: woody herbs, soft dried fruits; almonds and marzipan. Smooth, aromatic, and delicate in flavor.
The notes of vanilla and almond are intensified thanks to the oak barrels. It also stands out for its unique smoothness due to the charcoal blend.
It is ideal to consume on its own or use it for making cocktails like the mojito or more modern recipes like the knight cup.
