Mark: Tamerán
Tamerán Marmajuelo 2020 is a white wine from D.O.P. Gran Canaria produced by Bodegas Tamerán , the project of footballer David Silva together with winemaker Jonatan García. It is produced with 100% Marmajuelo -also known as Bermejuela-, a variety native to the Canary Islands grown in ungrafted vineyards on volcanic soils located between 620 and 700 meters above sea level, which brings freshness and mineral character to the wine.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats. Subsequently, the wine remains on its lees for about 9 months , a process that provides greater complexity and a broader texture on the palate while maintaining the freshness characteristic of the variety.
The nose is intense and expressive, with aromas of white and yellow fruit, citrus notes and delicate floral nuances. The palate is fresh and lively, with good acidity, slightly unctuous texture and a long finish with a marked mineral and saline character. A very unique white that reflects the volcanic landscape of Gran Canaria and perfectly accompanies fish, seafood, rice dishes or Mediterranean cuisine.
