Supplement based on isoflavones from pueraria (kudzu) and soybean seed for hormonal well-being.
Soy isoflavones have an estrogenic effect, mainly due to their interaction with the estrogen receptor. They are indicated in the prevention and treatment of menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, and postmenopausal coronary heart disease).
Additionally, they are used as a supplement in the treatment of metabolic syndrome and as an aid to reduce urinary, intestinal, and sexual adverse effects of radiation therapy in patients with prostate neoplasia.
Genistein is especially associated with improved parameters of bone neoformation and a reduction in resorption indicators. Benefits of genistein at the endothelial level are also reported.
Puerarin (daidzein 8-C-glucoside), unlike other isoflavones, is resistant to intestinal hydrolysis and is absorbed intact. This compound quickly enters circulation, reaching its maximum concentration, and is distributed in various organs (liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, heart, brain, and eyes).
The beneficial effects of puerarin on various medicinal purposes may be due to its wide spectrum of pharmacological properties such as vasodilation, cardioprotection, neuroprotection, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, promotion of bone formation, inhibition of alcohol intake, and attenuation of insulin resistance.
In addition to cardiovascular protection, soy isoflavones have an antioxidant function, inhibiting LDL oxidation and reducing the risk of atheroma formation.
Suitable for vegetarians.
