Viña Mayor Crianza 2019, made with tempranillo, is presented as a classic wine from this D.O. with the wood very well integrated, fruity, smooth and round.
Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor has been present in Ribera del Duero since 1986 with an innovative spirit but without forgetting the respect for traditions in the production of its wines.
Viña Mayor Crianza 2019 is a single-varietal wine made from Tempranillo grapes. The grapes are selected and harvested manually. They are transported to the winery in 300 kg crates. The grapes are gently destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with temperature and frequency of pump-overs controlled automatically. Post-fermentation maceration lasts for 18 days.
Aging is done in mostly French oak barrels with a small percentage of high-quality American oak, with a medium toast and a capacity of 225 liters. The minimum time spent in wood is 12 months. Aging in the bottle lasts between 6 and 10 months.
Viña Mayor Crianza is ideal to accompany Valencian cuisine, Castilian roasts, or Asian food. It pairs well with red meats, stews, legumes, and all kinds of aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 16-18ºC.
