Viña Pomal Centenario Reserva is the flagship wine of Bodegas Bilbaínas and a classic brand from Rioja. The centennial Bodegas Bilbaínas were born with a Gallic heart and consolidated with a Riojan spirit. Bodegas Bilbaínas is the oldest bottling firm in La Rioja, with the largest underground cellar area in the region.Viña Pomal Centenario Reserva is a single varietal of Tempranillo. The soils are of various types, as well as the sun exposure of each plot, but a work of identification of homogeneous areas is carried out from which to harvest the grapes. In the winery, the grains of Viña Pomal Centenario Reserva ferment alcoholically at 28º temperature. Subsequently, a maceration process takes place that lasts for three weeks.
Viña Pomal Reserva ultimately ages for 18 months in American oak barrels, one fifth of which are new. During this phase, daily rackings are carried out to naturally clean the wine. Before being marketed, Viña Pomal Reserva is further refined for about two more years in the bottle.
Viña Pomal Centenario Reserva is ideal to accompany vegetables, rice, cheeses, duck, and blue fish. It is recommended to decant before consuming and serve at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
