Wine Palo Cortado Peninsula Lustau
The Wine Palo Cortado Peninsula Lustau is a wine aged under veil of flor with the traditional system of Solera and Criaderas in American oak barrels, made exclusively with grapes of the Palomino variety. It is an extremely versatile wine, aged an average of 12 years.
The Palo Cortado Peninsula Lustau wine manages to unify the delicacy of an Amontillado, along with the body and richness of an Oloroso. Among the accolades this wine has received are a score of96 Parker points in The Wine Advocate, as well as the silver medal at the International Wine Challenge in 2013 and 2016. It also took second place in the 2013 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
It is part of the Gama Solera Familiar, which incorporates all the tradition of the first soleras with which Emilio Lustau began a legacy in Jerez de la Frontera. Solera and Criadera is the traditional method used to age fermented sherries and sherry spirits. It is pyramidal in style, where the tip is the solera, where the youngest wine enters and descends towards the criaderas.
It is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature of 13-14º. The ideal pairing of Vino Palo Cortado Península Lustau is with a cheese board and Iberian ham. It also pairs very well with consommés, cold meats, foie gras or well-seasoned dishes.
