After losing the original factory to the Russian Tsar, they relocated to Turkey, Poland, and France, and later to the United States, adopting the name Smirnoff instead of the original Smirnov.
Vodka Smirnoff is made using the original recipe created in 1864. It is triple distilled, 10 times filtered, and undergoes 47 independent quality checks. The charcoal used by Smirnoff for filtration grows in the originally selected forests in southern Poland.
