This round-shaped yema de Santa Teresa experience will take place at number 1 of Plaza de Santa Teresa de Jesús.
First, we will take a brief tour of the yema museum of La Flor de Castilla to learn about the history of the yemas de Santa Teresa. Did you know that the original recipe dates back to 1860? Since then, the technique of its preparation has been passed down from generation to generation, resulting in a unique product that is a symbol of identity for Ávila.
After learning about the history of this sweet from Ávila, we will carry out the yemas de Santa Teresa shaping workshop. A master pastry chef will teach us this centuries-old technique, which is done entirely by hand.
Following tradition, once you finish shaping your own yemas, you will have to place the typical hieroglyphic symbol on the box of sweets that distinguishes this product. It is an authenticity seal that certifies that the yemas have been made following the original recipe.
The shaping workshop will last 20 minutes, with an additional 20 minutes approximately for tasting sweets. Additionally, we will serve you a drink of your choice, between soda, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or water.
At the end of the experience, we will give you a box of yemas de Santa Teresa that you have shaped yourselves. This way, you can enjoy this delicious product typical of Ávila at home.
