Domaine des Closiers Les Coudraies is a red wine made from 100% Cabernet Franc that faithfully represents the character of Parnay.
Domaine des Closiers Les Coudraies is a high-expression red wine made from grapes grown in the emblematic Les Coudraies plot, located on the prized slopes of Parnay in the heart of the Loire Valley. The limestone soil of this area brings minerality, elegance, and depth to the wine.
Harvesting is done manually, with four successive selections to ensure only the best grapes, which are fully destemmed. Before fermentation begins, the grapes are chilled and subjected to a cold pre-fermentation maceration, which, along with a total maceration of about one month, allows the full aromatic and structural richness of the fruit to be extracted.
The wine is aged for one year in Bordeaux barrels and then spends another year in the bottle before release. Throughout the winemaking process, no products are added except for minimal doses of SO₂ to preserve the wine’s stability.
Visually, Domaine des Closiers Les Coudraies shows a deep red color with violet highlights. On the nose, it is refined and expressive, with intense aromas of ripe black fruits such as cherry and blackberry, complemented by floral notes, mineral touches, and a subtle spicy background from the aging.
On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, with a smooth entry that gives way to a silky texture and finely integrated tannins. The mouth is filled with juicy, fresh fruit, balanced by vibrant acidity and a signature minerality. The finish is long, delicate, and full of nuances.
Perfect to pair with red meats, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes, this wine precisely reflects the elegance and character of the Parnay terroir.
