Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Joie du Palais is an exceptional red wine made from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region by the Lafarge-Vial winery. Biodynamic agriculture is practiced in these vineyards, which, with over fifty years of history and a steep incline of more than 50%, cultivate grapes in granitic soils. The grapes are partially destemmed and fermented in cement tanks using native yeasts. After fermentation, the wine ages for a year in used barrels, thus avoiding over-exposure to wood and allowing for optimal refinement. Fred and Chantal Lafarge, owners of this small 4-hectare estate that includes vineyards in Fleurie and Chiroubles, have created a product that reflects their deep connection to the land and their commitment to sustainability.
