Jesús Madrazo Selección Rioja 2019 is an exceptional red wine from the Denomination of Origin Qualified Rioja, crafted by Jesús Madrazo with a careful selection of grape varieties Tempranillo, Graciano, and Maturana. This wine results from a meticulous process starting with a manual selection of the best bunches from 35 to 40-year-old vines located in the heart of Lapuebla and Laguardia in the Rioja Alavesa region.
The wine fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks where the temperature is controlled between 28ºC and 30ºC for 7 days, followed by an additional 10-day maceration. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation occurs in large oak barrels composed of 70% French oak, 15% American oak, and 15% Hungarian oak, lasting for 25 days.
Once fermentation is complete, the wine ages in the same barrels for 17 months, allowing for a perfect integration of flavors. In tasting, a cherry red color can be appreciated with a very elegant nose featuring notes of black and red fruit, balanced well with the nuances brought by aging. On the palate, it offers a good entry, flowing with a silky touch and a remarkable balance between fruit and aging, resulting in a persistent finish that leaves a lasting impression.
