Jesús Madrazo Selección Rioja 2020 is a red wine that reflects the tradition and dedication of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. This wine is produced from a careful hand-selection of the best clusters of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Maturana grapes, sourced from old vines aged between 35 and 40 years, strategically located north of Lapuebla and south of Laguardia in the renowned Rioja Alavesa. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 28°C and 30°C for 7 days, complemented by an additional 10-day maceration to extract the best flavors and aromas. The malolactic fermentation follows in large oak barrels, with 70% French oak, 15% American oak, and 15% Hungarian oak. This process lasts for 25 days and allows the wine to gain complexity. The wine matures in 500-liter and 225-liter oak barrels for 17 months, during which periodic racking is performed. When tasted, it shows a dark cherry color with medium-high density and an intense, elegant nose, with notes of red and black fruit balanced by its aging. On the palate, it is silky and elegant, with adequate acidity and a persistent finish that leaves a lasting impression.
