The Sohm & Kracher Grüner Veltliner "Lion" is an expressive and modern Austrian white wine, made exclusively with Grüner Veltliner grapes from the Burgenland region in eastern Austria.
This cuvée is the result of a collaboration between Aldo Sohm, one of the world's most renowned sommeliers, and Gerhard Kracher, winemaker at the prestigious Kracher winery.
The "Lion" wine stands out for its fresh, pure, and accessible approach, with a winemaking process focused on preserving the varietal character of Grüner Veltliner: freshness, vibrant texture, and spicy notes. Ideal for both young consumption and as a companion to a wide range of dishes.
Appearance: Pale yellow color with greenish reflections, bright and very clean.
Nose: Intense aromas of green apple, lime, white grapefruit, and notes of fresh pear. Typical spicy notes of Grüner Veltliner are also perceived, such as white pepper and mild ginger, on a mineral background.
Palate: Dry, fresh, and direct, with vibrant acidity and a lively texture. Citrus and herbaceous flavors are accompanied by a spicy note and a clean, slightly saline, and refreshing finish. A precise and very gastronomic wine, with excellent value.
