Dubbel Pack

There is no clear explanation for the origin of the denomination Dubbel. While some claim it depends on the intensity of the wort or the amount of alcohol, others point out that its name only responds to the numbering of the recipes imposed in the Westmalle Trappist monastery. What is clear is that it was in this abbey where the first Dubbel and Tripel were born. The way to mark these beers, stronger than the enkel or patersbier, was by adding "XX" on the barrel to distinguish them.
