Castro Candaz Finca El Curvado is a red wine made primarily from the Mencía variety, accompanied by other local varieties present in the same vineyard. It comes from granite soils in the Chantada area, where the slopes are so steep that all work must be done manually. It is fermented with a portion of the stems (the skeleton of the bunch) and aged in used barrels to preserve the purity of the fruit.
On the nose, it is a wine of great finesse, with notes of fresh red fruit (tart strawberry, cherry), floral hints of violets, and a pronounced mineral and herbaceous character. On the palate, it is vibrant and fluid, with a prominent acidity that gives it incredible freshness. It is a "vertical," long, and elegant wine that moves away from power to seek subtlety and reflect the Galician landscape.
