Kripta is one of the most prestigious and recognizable cavas in the world, not only for its iconic amphora-shaped bottle but also for its exceptional content. It is made with the traditional blend of the best plots of old vineyards (over 60 years) from the Penedès region: Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada. It is a pure Brut Nature, with no added sugars, that undergoes a minimum aging on the lees of 60 months (5 years) with a natural cork closure, which gives it extraordinary complexity and fineness of bubbles.
In the glass, it presents a straw-yellow color with golden reflections and an extremely fine and persistent bubble. On the nose, it is a lesson in complexity: notes of ripe white fruit and candied citrus appear, quickly giving way to tertiary aromas of great elegance such as toasted bread, brioche, nuts, vanilla, and a subtle mineral background. On the palate, it is broad, structured, and very creamy, with impeccable integration of the carbonation and an extremely long finish that recalls fine pastries. It is a cava for contemplation or to accompany great dishes: caviar, powerful fish, truffled white meats, or long-aged cheeses.
