The Matanegra Perillán Roble is a red wine produced by Pagos de Matanegra in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. It represents the youngest expression with barrel aging from the winery, combining the power of the region with an accessible style where fruit and wood are integrated in a balanced way.
It is made exclusively with Tempranillo (Tinta Fina) from vineyards with an average age of around 50 years, situated on clay-limestone soils. This maturity of the vineyard, combined with the continental climate of Ribera, allows for great concentration and structure. After fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for about 8 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity without masking the fruit.
On the nose, it is intense and expressive, with ripe black fruits (plum, blackberry), notes of jam, and subtle spicy hints. On the palate, it is smooth, enveloping, and has silky tannins. It is a modern and gastronomic Ribera, ideal for red meats, cold cuts, and traditional stews.
