Scala Dei HeretgeHeretge is the purest and most vertical expression of Cariñena from Priorat. Made from grapes from three small plots of vines over 80 years old located in the municipality of La Vilella Alta, this wine is an exercise in radical typicity. When served, it shows an intense, deep, and bright garnet red color. On the nose, it is an explosion of acidic black fruit (blueberries, cassis), with marked notes of graphite, coal, and a herbaceous background of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is a wine of great tension and structure; it has a sharp acidity and granite tannins that promise an eternal life in the bottle. Its finish is dry, serious, and profoundly mineral, leaving a memory of earth and black licorice.
