The Watchtower of the Road

The Watchtower of the Road

The Way Watchtower is a high-quality red wine produced by Bodegas Atalaya in the Almansa region, within the Denomination of Origin Almansa in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. This wine is characterized by its careful production and its ability to express the unique character of its terroir. Production The Way Watchtower begins with a rigorous selection of grapes from the Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties. Grown in vineyards located at an altitude between 700 and 1000 meters above sea level. These vineyards benefit from soils poor in organic matter, mainly composed of limestone, and a continental climate with large temperature differences between day and night. These conditions allow for a slow and optimal ripening of the grapes, providing the wine with a notable concentration of aromas and flavors. The harvest is done manually, carefully selecting the best clusters. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. With the aim of extracting the varietal characteristics and aromatic potential to the fullest. Subsequently, the wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels for 12 months. This gives it complexity, elegance, and a notable tannic structure. In the glass, The Way Watchtower presents an intense red color with purple hues. On the nose, it displays a range of aromas including ripe black fruits, spices, balsamic notes, and hints of cocoa and vanilla from its oak aging. On the palate, it is a powerful and balanced wine, with well-integrated acidity, firm tannins, and a long and persistent finish. Pairing This wine is ideal for pairing with grilled red meats, roasts, stews, and game dishes such as deer and wild boar. It also pairs perfectly with cured cheeses and Iberian cold cuts, as well as pasta dishes with rich and hearty sauces. In conclusion, The Way Watchtower is a red wine that reflects Bodegas Atalaya's commitment to quality and tradition, standing out for its complexity and ability to pair with a wide variety of dishes.
