Flor de Matteria is an author wine made from Tinta de Toro variety, sourced from a careful selection of the best vineyards of the winery, over 45 years old. These low-yield vineyards add exceptional fruit concentration to the wine. After production, the wine ages for 12 months in new French oak barrels, aiming for perfect integration between the tannic structure of the Toro variety and the nobility of the wood. Its deep, opaque cherry color stands out, offering a dense and persistent tear. On the nose, its complexity and sophistication emerge, with aromas of ripe black fruit—such as plums and figs—intertwined with notes of coffee, cocoa, tobacco, and a subtle mineral background of damp earth. On the palate, it presents as a wine with great volume and power, with an imposing structure but silky and mature tannins, leaving an eternal finish, with a roasted aftertaste and liqueur-like black fruit. It is an ideal wine to accompany intensely flavored dishes, such as long-aged red meats, big game, oxtail, and highly cured Zamoran cheeses.
