It comes from a "majestic" palm tree native to the Amazonian countries and northern South America. Brazil is its main source and there we can find the most impressive specimens. Acai or what we consume is its fruit, the acai berry (similar, aesthetically, to blueberries). It needs a lot of water to live and that's why we can find it in the riverbeds of the Amazon.
