Arnaud Baillot Chassagne-Montrachet 2022 is a white wine from the AOC Chassagne-Montrachet , in the Côte de Beaune (Burgundy, France) , made by Arnaud Baillot , a producer located in Beaune. This appellation is one of the most prestigious in Burgundy and is especially renowned for its great whites made from Chardonnay , the predominant variety in the area.
The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay from vineyards located on clay-limestone soils, characteristic of the region. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place in French oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for about 12 months in barrels (approx. 25% new oak) before bottling.
The nose is elegant and complex, with aromas of white flowers, ripe citrus and brioche , accompanied by notes of hazelnut and mild spices from aging. The palate is ample, creamy and balanced , with good acidity and a long finish with mineral nuances characteristic of the great whites of Burgundy.
It is an ideal gourmet white to accompany seafood, noble fish, poultry or dishes with creamy sauces , and has the capacity to evolve in bottle for several years.
