Mark: Cuentaviñas
Cuentaviñas Los Yelsones 2019 is a red wine from the DOCa Rioja made by Cuentaviñas , Eduardo Eguren's personal project. It comes from a small vineyard located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra , planted on very stony soils known as "yelsones", limestone formations that give the wine a marked minerality and great personality. The wine is made from Tempranillo with small proportions of traditional white varieties , following the historical practice of co-planting in the area.
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Each plot is vinified separately in small vats and the wine is subsequently aged for around 18 months in French oak barrels , then refined in the bottle to achieve greater complexity and balance.
The nose is elegant and deep, with aromas of ripe red fruit, floral notes and delicate spicy nuances , accompanied by a mineral background very characteristic of the vineyard. The palate is balanced and precise, with fine tannins, good freshness and a long, refined finish that reflects the character of the San Vicente de la Sonsierra terroir. A plot Rioja with great personality and gastronomic vocation.
