Falcoeira Branco 2023 is a unique white wine made by Telmo Rodríguez in the Valdeorras project, northwest Spain. It comes from the historic Falcoeira vineyard, located on steep slopes in Santa Cruz do Bolo, where traditional Galician varieties such as Godello, Doña Blanca, Treixadura, and Palomino are cultivated. These vines, planted on slate soils and at high altitudes, give the wine its unique minerality and freshness. The harvest is done manually, carefully selecting the bunches due to the challenging access to the terrain. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and the wine ages for 12 months in fudres and oak barrels, working over its lees to add texture and complexity. On the nose, the wine exhibits aromas of white and stone fruits, citrus, and flowers, with notes of herbs, wet stone, and a pronounced mineral character. On the palate, it is structured and elegant, with high acidity and a long, saline finish. Ideal for pairing with fish, seafood, Galician cuisine, or sophisticated dishes, due to its personality and aging potential.
