Matarromera Prestigio 2017 is the ultimate expression of the Valbuena de Duero vineyards, an exclusive wine produced by Bodega Matarromera. From the 2017 vintage, the best plots with calcareous soils in the Ribera del Duero of Valladolid were carefully selected. Manual harvesting and a strict selection process ensure superior quality of the grapes. This wine breaks traditional classifications, being unique due to its exquisite making. It ages nine months in French oak barrels and nine months in American oak barrels, followed by an extended bottle aging that adds refinement. On the nose, it unfolds aromas of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and ripe dark fruits, with notes of ink, licorice, coffee, cocoa, tobacco, violets, and spices like clove and thyme. On the palate, it is broad and elegant, with freshness and polished tannins, offering a prolonged and complex finish with mineral nuances from the calcareous terroir.
