Nikka Yoichi Coffey Grain is an original pure grain whiskey distilled mainly from corn in a Coffey still. Its corn-based production, following tradition, gives this whiskey an even more unique character, since most of today's grain whiskeys are made from wheat. The Coffey still owes its name to its inventor Aeneas Coffey. These stills imported from Scotland in 1963 achieve a very complete distillate, with a distinctive character that defines Nikka blends. Juicy and pleasant. The palate presents more fruity notes, dominated by pear nectar, which quickly evolve into creamier notes with an omnipresent freshness. The finish is as pleasant as the palate, with hints of pear and bourbon vanilla, leaving a very nice light bitter touch.
