Mandolás 2018 is a very original wine, as it is a dry white wine made from Furmint, the main grape of Tokaji sweets. With late ripening and high acidity, the 2018 vintage offers us a fresh, pleasantly acidic and tasty wine.
Made from ripe grapes not affected by botrytis, which allows it to express all the fruity character of this variety typical of the area. In the vineyard, a specific selection of plots has been made at less than 200 meters above sea level, protected from the north winds and with the right density of vines, systematically checking the state of ripeness of the grapes for an optimal choice of ripe, healthy, golden yellow bunches.
The history of Oremus dates back to 1616, when Prince György Rákóczi I acquired the Oremus vineyard, which in 1711 became the property of the nobility of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, becoming the fashionable wine of the European nobility. In 1993, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Hungarian government sold these properties to the Spanish winemaking group Vega Sicilia.
