Pegaso Granito 2020 is one of the most elegant and refined expressions of Garnacha from the Sierra de Gredos. Made by Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza, it comes from old vineyards located around Cebreros, where the granitic soils impart a particularly delicate, floral, and silky profile to the wine. In contrast to the more austere and mineral character of wines born from slate, Granito stands out for its balance, finesse, and precision. The grapes originate from old bush-trained vines farmed under organic criteria. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts and minimal intervention to preserve the vineyard's identity. Subsequently, the wine ages between 18 and 24 months in large-format French barrels, achieving depth and complexity without masking the purity of the fruit or the expression of the terroir. On the nose, it reveals aromas of wild raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, mountain flowers, star anise, and Mediterranean herbs, accompanied by delicate mineral nuances. On the palate, it is silky, fresh, and balanced, with fine tannins and great definition. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, showcasing a pure and sophisticated expression of mountain Garnacha.
