Viña El Pisón 2020 is one of the most emblematic wines of Bodegas Artadi and a reference among the great red wines of Rioja Alavesa. Made exclusively from Tempranillo , it comes from a single historic vineyard of just 2.5 hectares located in Laguardia , planted in the 1940s on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of over 500 m above sea level. This plot wine accurately reflects the character of the terroir, with organic viticulture that seeks to preserve the identity of the vineyard.
The wine is made with a very rigorous selection of grapes and careful fermentation to extract the full expression of the fruit. The wine is then aged in new French oak barrels for around 12-15 months , which adds depth and complexity without hiding the purity of the variety. Its production is very limited, with only 5.000-7.000 bottles per vintage , which makes it a very exclusive wine.
In the glass it presents intense aromas of black fruits, violets and spices , accompanied by delicate mineral and toasted nuances. The palate is elegant and powerful at the same time , with fine tannins, great balance and a long, refined finish that confirms its status as one of the most prestigious wines of the region.
