Ondarre 7 Parcelas, 2020 vintage, is a red wine from Bodega Ondarre, part of Grupo Bodegas Olarra, with D.O.Ca Rioja (Spain). It is made from Tempranillo and Mazuelo from small vineyards in Viana, located between 400 and 700 meters above sea level. The diversity of its limestone soils contributes to the personality the winery seeks to express. Some of these vineyards have been planted for more than 70 years. The harvest aims for healthy fruit at the right ripeness to produce wines with aging potential. Fermentation takes place between 18 and 24 degrees to preserve the aromas. Maceration lasts about two weeks, with daily pump-overs. Aging takes place in American and French oak barrels for 12 to 16 months, with periodic rackings; the data sheet indicates maturation for 16 months. Dark red in color with purple highlights, it offers aromas of red and black fruits together with spicy notes, with a fresh and clean profile. On the palate it has a smooth, rounded entry, medium weight and a persistent finish with a sweet aftertaste. It is presented in a 75 cl bottle (750 ml), with 14% alcohol.
