Vino Tinto La Vicalanda Viñas Viejas is a jewel of Bodegas Bilbaínas, one of the most emblematic wineries in the Rioja region, founded in 1859. This wine pays homage to the old Tempranillo vines, the most representative red variety of the region. The thick-skinned Tempranillo grapes contribute color and tannins that result in structured wines with aging potential. Hand-harvesting ensures grapes are picked at optimal conditions, undergoing double selection before destemming. Controlled fermentation extracts the best aromas and flavors, followed by aging in oak barrels lasting 18 to 24 months. The wine develops complexity and smoothness while acquiring oak notes.
