The Young Alto Miraltares Red Wine is made from 100% Tinta del País, the variety that defines the essence of the Ribera del Duero. The vineyards are between 15 and 35 years old, ensuring quality grapes, while the younger vines (under 15 years old) are destined for other wineries to maintain the standard of excellence in each bottle.
The vineyards are bush-trained, with three arms and two thumbs, and are oriented to the southeast to take full advantage of the morning sun and protect themselves from frost. The soil is one of the secrets of this wine: it is composed of layers of loamy sand and clay, interspersed with limestones and marls, which provide great minerality and aromatic complexity. In addition, its altitude of 846 meters favors a slow ripening that preserves the acidity and intensity of the aromas.
The harvest is manual, in 25 kg boxes, ensuring that each cluster arrives in perfect condition at the winery. The harvest was carried out on October 10, obtaining a total of 7,600 kg of grapes from six contiguous plots, with a yield of just 2,576 kg/ha. This low production is synonymous with concentration and quality in the final wine.
