Barceló Gran Añejo emerged in 1930 with the dream of Julián Barceló, born in Mallorca (Spain), who founded Barceló & Co in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic that same year.
Following his dream of creating the best rum in the world, in 1929 Julián Barceló, a 25-year-old Spanish young man, arrived in Santo Domingo founding Barceló & Co.
Barceló Gran Añejo is made with a blend of high-aged rums and aged in first-use American oak barrels previously used for bourbon. As a result of its careful elaboration process, we obtain a light, fragrant rum with an unmatched bouquet.
Appearance: Ron Barceló Gran Añejo has a bright amber color.
Nose: Voluptuous nose with notes of caramel, varnish, sweet spices, and dried herbs. Oily and smooth, with volume, very tasty, slightly pungent with notes of coffee and tobacco along with other more subtle flavors such as coconut.
Palate: Smooth on the palate, with a warm touch, somewhat liqueur-like with nuanced flavors and a round, honeyed finish.
Ron Barceló Gran Añejo, considered by many as the perfect sip, is ideal to be enjoyed mixed with cola and accompanied by a slice of lime.
