Elaboration
Vodka Absolut is made exclusively from natural ingredients and, unlike many other vodkas, it does not contain added sugar. The main ingredients are water and winter wheat.
The water comes from a deep well in Åhus, protected against impurities. This winter wheat is different from other crops: it is planted in autumn and harvested the following year.
Meanwhile, it grows under the Swedish snow, developing a hard grain. In addition, the use of fertilizers is minimal. The continuous distillation method is used, which involves distilling the vodka an infinite number of times, unlike other vodkas that are distilled 3 or 4 times.
It was first introduced in 1979 in New York, and the original recipe, which is over 30 years old, is still used.
Tasting Note for Vodka Absolut
Appearance: Vodka Absolut has a transparent and crystalline color.
Nose: It has a great cleanliness and purity on the nose.
Palate: It has a full-bodied and complex flavor, but smooth and mature with the distinctive character of wheat grain, followed by a hint of dried fruits. No added sugar.
Recommended Consumption
Absolut is recommended to be consumed straight, on the rocks, or mixed with lemon. The purer the vodka, the better it pairs with other flavors, which is why Absolut vodka is ideal for making cocktails like The Moscow Mule or the Absolut Tonic.
